Who we are
Halman Thompson is a team of artisan designers and craftspeople specialising in bespoke metal creations. From splashbacks, worktops and table tops to bars, wall panels and outdoor features, we create distinctive pieces for homes, businesses and hospitality spaces.
Every project is made to order, with each sheet cut, aged and finished by hand in our Newcastle workshop. Our natural finishing process ensures that no two pieces are exactly alike, giving every customer something genuinely individual.
How we started
Our history
Halman Thompson was founded by husband-and-wife team Sara Halman and Josh Thompson after they identified a gap in the market during lockdown for beautifully crafted products made from aged brass and copper. Combining their strengths in creativity, brand building and design, they began developing their own distinctive finishes through different methods of ageing and polishing metal. The company name brings together their surnames and is also the surname shared by their children.
The company’s earliest creations included bespoke splashbacks, feature walls and pieces of wall art. From there, the team and its capabilities grew to encompass complete bars, worktops, tables and ambitious commercial commissions. Early highlights included creating tables used at the 2021 G7 summit in Cornwall and a bar top for the Duchy of Cornwall Garden Centre, which was officially opened by Queen Camilla in 2023.
